Rhino Recruitment are hiring an experienced HSEQ Manager to join a team on a 2 year contract for the construction supervision of five new build transhipment vessels (TSV’s), at a shipyard in China.

The role will involve Overseeing the construction of five new transhipment shuttle vessels (TSVs) at a Chinese shipyard, ensuring smooth Site Office operations and safe delivery. Collaborate with national and international partners from contract award through design, construction, testing, commissioning, and delivery to meet specifications, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

This role will be a 2 year fixed contract.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement HSE and Quality Plans, ensuring compliance by Site Team and shipyard personnel.
  • Lead safety inductions, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Manage non-conformances, audits, and quality control punch lists.
  • Drive adherence to Client’s HSE and Quality Management Plans.
  • Maintain thorough records of inspections and tests.
  • Prepare detailed reports with findings, photographs, and recommendations.
  • Provide HSE updates and collaborate with stakeholders on progress and challenges.
  • Monitor shipyard safety protocols and address hazards.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality in newbuild construction.

 

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years in HSEQ management within shipbuilding or heavy industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in marine industry HSEQ standards, incident investigation, and audits.
  • Experience with SOLAS, MARPOL, and international shipbuilding standards.
  • Familiarity with Japanese, Korean, or Chinese shipyards and multicultural environments.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work abroad for 15 months.

 

Desirable Requirements:

  • MSc, MBA, or certifications in Welding Inspection (CSWIP), NDT, or similar.
  • Understanding of Chinese Language
  • Sea-going experience.

 

Salary/Rate: Monthly Pay – TBC
