Civils Project Manager – Gloucester – Permanent – £60,000–£75,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced Civils Project Manager for a major infrastructure scheme near Gloucester. This is a high-profile civil engineering role that requires strong expertise in bridge construction, formwork, RECKLI finishes, and temporary works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the site setup phase, ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations
- Coordinate site teams including black hats, foremen, and supervisors to meet programme milestones
- Enforce RAMS adherence and ensure all equipment is certified and well maintained
- Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks, and uphold HSE standards across the site
- Manage statutory inspections and checks, including plant, scaffold, and equipment
- Oversee quality through ITPs, concrete finishes, and documentation processes
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials with internal and external suppliers
- Prepare and manage Temporary Works Design Briefs in collaboration with PERI or similar
- Ensure lift plans are in place and supervise lifting operations with qualified teams
- Track site progress, issue reports, and act as liaison with the client
- Maintain resource records, monitor budget, and compile commercial documentation
- Investigate incidents and facilitate sharing of lessons learned
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven background in managing bridge or heavy civils projects
- In-depth technical knowledge of formwork systems and temporary works
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver to time and quality targets
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
