We are recruiting for an Experienced Civils Project Manager to lead operations on a high-profile civil engineering scheme near Gloucester. This temporary role requires proven technical expertise in bridge construction, formwork, RECKLI finishes, and temporary works coordination.
As the Civils Project Manager, you will oversee site delivery, ensuring programme milestones are met while maintaining the highest standards in safety, quality, and commercial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the initial site setup, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Coordinate with black hats, foremen, and supervisors to align tasks with project milestones
- Enforce adherence to approved RAMS and ensure operatives use certified, well-maintained equipment
- Deliver safety briefings and toolbox talks while maintaining HSE standards across the site
- Oversee and verify completion of weekly inspections and statutory checks
- Manage quality control through ITPs, RECKLI finish checks, and pour documentation
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials with suppliers and internal teams
- Submit Temporary Works Design Briefs and liaise with PERI or external designers
- Ensure all lifting operations are planned, teams appointed, and activities supervised
- Report weekly and fortnightly progress against the master programme
- Serve as the main point of contact with the client, providing updates and attending meetings
- Monitor budgets, manage resources, and compile CVIs with commercial documentation
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and communicate lessons learned
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven track record in managing bridge construction projects
- In-depth technical understanding of formwork systems and temporary works
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
- Excellent planning, communication, and reporting skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage safety, quality, and commercial performance on major civil engineering sites
