JJ Evans Sponsorship Proves Successful for Rhino

As you will know from our social media pages, last week, we sponsored young Welsh boxer, JJ Evans. Supporting him in his fight against Ben Fields, we were understandably thrilled by the result.  

Held at the iconic York Hall in Bethnal Green, fight night saw Evans come out on top, winning his 6th professional fight on points.  

“This was my first fight at welterweight and it felt great. I am hoping to get into the title mix this year at welter weight. I would like to thank Rhino or their sponsorship, this helped myself and the team greatly!” he said.  

 “I’m really enjoying being a professional. The pro-style suits me a lot more. The training is harder but I have a great coach in Darren who is a good friend too. So I am really enjoying life in the pro ranks. 

Training under Darren Wilson, a great friend of ours at Rhino, it appears this young champ has a great career ahead. Still just very young and with huge plans and ambitions, we were proud to see Evans arrive at the venue in branded Rhino kit.  

Trainer Darren Wilson, who is well known for working with Nathan Cleverly, gave his take on his young prodigy. 

Wilson said, “Jamie was a very good amateur, and is developing fight by fight into a very good pro fighter. 

“I’ve taken him around a load of gyms to spar some top boys including, Liam Williams, Tony Dixon and he has done rounds with Nathan Cleverly ahead of the Brahmer fight. 

“I’m very excited to see what the future holds for him as I think he has all the tools to go to the top for sure.” 

So, be sure to make a note of the name JJ Evans and expect to hear a LOT more about this talented southpaw in the coming years.
