Jobs you Didn't Know you Could do Remotely

Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, remote working has become increasingly important in our society. Hundreds of thousands of workers in the United Kingdom have switched to remote working, developing their home offices to settle in throughout this unprecedented period while we are in and out of lockdown and unable in many instances to work in the office as is usual.

While many have had to adapt to this remote way of working, for many others, it has highlighted the benefits of working from home - including reduced commuting hours, a better work/life balance and more time with family.

One small positive that can be found in this tumultuous period of history is that the appetite for remote working across the UK has increased - and there are a number of different business sectors offering job roles available to work remotely, some of which are quite surprising!

Here are some jobs you didn’t know you could do remotely.

Therapist

With the development of technology and the particularly sensitive nature of the relationship between a therapist and a patient, it has not only become possible, but incredibly accessible, to develop a successful career as a therapist while working completely remotely.

Thanks to innovative technology platforms that enable video call or virtual meetings, therapists can assess, treat and engage with their patients without ever being in the same room, but without once losing the ‘face to face’ element.

Interior Designer

Interior designers are hired to create a desirable space inside a home or a commercial property. Interior designers use the space itself, as well as the personal tastes of their clients, to provide a makeover for the chosen room or project.

While you might need to initially meet your clients to get an idea of what their tastes might be, the bulk of your work as an interior designer can be done remotely - utilising the internet to research the latest trends and to source products, items and accessories that will fill the space, and to mock up your visions utilising a host of the computer programmes available.

Teacher

Particularly during the Coronavirus pandemic, the appetite for online learning and learning from home has increased exponentially. From virtual lectures to zoom seminars, skype coaching sessions and online meetings, there are a host of digital platforms which can enable you to have a successful career as a teacher without ever setting foot in a classroom.

From your typical primary or secondary education school teachers to tutors in just about any subject, lecturers in a specialist topic or indeed those who simply wish to impart wisdom - these are all teaching job roles which can be conducted from the comfort of your own home.

As you can see, there are a surprising number of job roles which support remote working - and many of which in sectors that will surprise you. Whether you’re looking for a career change, have adapted to remote working and are no longer looking for an office-based job, or are simply looking to try something new, why not get in touch with Rhino Recruitment today to see which types of remote career opportunities could be available to you.
