Finance and Payroll Assistant – Cardiff – Full-time – £25,000–£32,000

Key Responsibilities:
Finance Duties:
- Assist with client account management and reconciliations
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain ledgers
- Help with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Manage purchase orders and expense claims
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
Payroll Duties:
- Process monthly payroll for all staff including starters, leavers, and contract changes
- Input statutory information (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP)
- Handle PAYE and NI tax code changes
- Submit monthly pension contributions to providers
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers as needed
- Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports
- Respond to payroll queries from staff and external bodies
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in both finance and payroll functions
- Proficiency with accounting/payroll software (e.g. Xero, Sage)
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
