Graduate SHEQ Officer – Caerphilly – Full-time – £25,500 to £35,000
Rhino Recruitment is hiring a Graduate Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Officer to join an established team in Caerphilly. This full-time permanent role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to start a career in SHEQ within the safety standards industry.
Key Responsibilities
In this Graduate SHEQ Officer role, you’ll support the development and improvement of SHEQ systems, helping to embed a strong safety culture across operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of company SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Conducting audits and site inspections across different locations.
- Completing and reviewing RAMS and COSHH assessments.
- Investigating incidents and near misses, supporting corrective actions.
- Managing occupational health surveillance records and safety documentation.
- Delivering toolbox talks and health and safety inductions.
- Monitoring SHEQ compliance of both employees and contractors.
- Supporting PPE management and equipment checks.
- Staying current on changes in SHEQ legislation and standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate (or currently working towards).
- Strong interest in SHEQ, particularly in technical or operational environments.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with ISO standards or BAFE schemes.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma.
- Experience from a placement or internship in a SHEQ setting.
- Awareness of UK SHE legislation and professional memberships such as IOSH, IEMA, or CQI.
