Groundworks Project Manager – Suffolk – Full-time – Salary DOE
Rhino Recruitment is seeking an experienced Groundworks Project Manager to join an established civil engineering team in Suffolk.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with strong technical knowledge and site management experience in groundworks and civil engineering. You'll take full responsibility for delivering projects from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring safety, quality, and budget targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site operations including drainage, foundations, utilities, and external works.
- Lead and support site managers, engineers, and operatives across multiple projects.
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and consultants to maintain effective communication.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement and performance.
- Monitor and update project programmes, budgets, and resource planning.
- Produce accurate reporting on progress, risks, costs, and variations.
- Resolve site issues quickly through effective risk management strategies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager in groundworks or civil engineering.
- Strong technical understanding of excavation, drainage, concrete works, and road construction.
- Skilled in budget management, cost control, and commercial awareness (NEC/JCT knowledge desirable).
- Confident in reading technical drawings and specifications.
- Valid CSCS card, SMSTS, and ideally NEBOSH or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and project management software.
