Setting Out Engineer – Suffolk – Full-time – DOE
Rhino Recruitment is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join an established team in Suffolk. This full-time role offers a chance to work on significant groundworks and civil engineering projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate setting out and dimensional control on construction sites.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and designs to guide works.
- Carry out surveys to ensure compliance with design tolerances.
- Monitor and verify levels, positions, and alignments of key structures.
- Maintain detailed records including as-built surveys and QA documentation.
- Collaborate closely with site managers, foremen, and site operatives.
- Report and resolve technical or quality issues promptly.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met and upheld on-site.
- Assist in planning, material ordering, and plant coordination.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure technical standards are maintained.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Setting Out Engineer role within groundworks or civil engineering.
- Proficiency with setting out equipment (total stations, GPS, laser levels).
- Ability to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and site coordination skills.
- Valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence.
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).
