We are seeking an experienced Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) to support RC bridge construction works on a major roadside infrastructure project in Gloucester.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and safe execution of all lifting operations on site, ensuring compliance with current legislation and industry best practice.
This role requires proven experience in lift planning within civil engineering and reinforced concrete bridge environments.
Start: ASAP
Duration: 7 Months+
Hours per Week: 50
Rate: Negotiable - Depending on Experience
Key Responsibilities

Act as the Appointed Person in accordance with LOLER and BS 7121

Produce detailed and compliant lift plans and method statements

Plan and coordinate all crane and lifting operations

Ensure lifting activities comply with RAMS and site safety procedures

Liaise with site management, crane operators, lift supervisors, and subcontractors

Review lifting equipment certifications and ensure suitability for tasks
Requirements:

Valid Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) qualification (e.g., CPCS A61 or NPORS equivalent)

Proven experience producing lift plans within RC bridge or civil infrastructure projects

Strong understanding of LOLER, BS 7121 and lifting regulations

Ability to manage multiple lifting operations in a live roadside environment

SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
