Job Title: Appointed Person
Location: Near Dartford
Contract: Self-Employed, 6 Months
We’re engaging an experienced Appointed Person to take full responsibility for planning and managing lifting operations on a major structural steel project near Dartford. This is a 6-month self-employed contract, supporting a busy site with complex crane activities and coordinated erection works.
You’ll ensure all lifts are properly assessed, planned and executed in line with current regulations and site requirements.
Scope of Work

Prepare and issue detailed lifting plans and method statements

Select appropriate cranes and lifting accessories for each operation

Carry out risk assessments and ensure control measures are in place

Coordinate with lifting supervisors, crane operators and site management

Review ground conditions and crane set-up requirements

Monitor compliance with LOLER and relevant legislation

Provide technical guidance on complex or high-risk lifts
Requirements

Valid CPCS Appointed Person qualification

Strong background in structural steel or heavy construction projects

In-depth knowledge of lifting regulations and crane operations

Experience planning complex lifts in live site environments

Clear communicator with strong organisational skills

UTR and right to work in the UK
