Rhino Recruitment are currently hiring a qualified Fabricator for ongoing work in Avonmouth, South West England, supporting projects within the ship repair and refurbishment sector.

This role will involve a mixture of workshop and site/dock-based work, assisting with the maintenance, repair, and structural refurbishment of a range of marine vessels.

Typical duties may include:

  • Fabricating and fitting steel structures, brackets, frames, and supports for marine vessels

  • Repairing or replacing damaged ship structures, including bulkheads, decks, and plating

  • Measuring, marking out, cutting, and assembling metal components to specification

  • Working from engineering drawings and technical plans

  • Assisting with structural modifications and refits during ship repair projects

  • Collaborating with welders and other trades to ensure accurate installation and structural integrity

Rate: £27.50 per hour
Hours: 10 hours per day, Monday–Friday (weekend work available where applicable)
Duration: Ongoing work – minimum 4 months

Requirements:

  • Time served Fabricator or NVQ (or equivalent) qualification

  • Shipbuilding or ship repair experience preferred

  • Strong skilled fabrication experience

  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings

  • Own welding screen and safety boots (all other PPE and tools provided)
