The Role
As a Mechanical Suppression Technician, you will play a key role in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire suppression systems. You will be working across a variety of commercial and industrial sites, ensuring systems are compliant, operational, and meet the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Installation and servicing of mechanical fire suppression systems (gaseous and kitchen systems)

Inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire extinguishers and suppression systems

Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs or replacements

Conducting fire extinguisher inspections

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and system specifications

Ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations and standards (e.g. BS and ISO)

Maintaining accurate service records and compliance documentation

Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects efficiently

Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
Requirements
Essential:

Experience working with gaseous and kitchen suppression systems (e.g. Ansul and/or Amerex)

Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Good communication and organisational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to learn and develop within the role
Desirable:

Experience in room integrity testing

Fire extinguisher servicing experience

Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Ansul R-102, Amerex, Fire Extinguisher Technician)
