Electrical Project Manager | Industrial Projects
South Wales | £60,000 + £5,000 car allowance
We are recruiting an Electrical Project Manager for my client, an engineering business delivering substantial projects across industrial and heavy engineering sites.
This is a permanent role for someone who can take ownership of electrical projects from the first enquiry and estimate through to delivery, completion and final account. You’ll have a clear say in how projects are priced, planned and run, with responsibility for keeping cost, programme, safety and quality on track.
What you’ll be doing
- Reviewing client enquiries, drawings and specifications, then preparing electrical estimates, tender submissions and pricing schedules.
- Planning programmes, resources, procurement and subcontract requirements.
- Selecting and managing electrical subcontractors, including their scope, performance, variations and final accounts.
- Working closely with site, engineering, commercial and HSE teams throughout delivery.
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, change control, applications for payment and reporting.
- Overseeing testing, commissioning, handover and project close-out.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have personally managed electrical projects worth £1m or more in an industrial, process plant or heavy engineering environment. You’ll understand what it takes to price the work, manage subcontractors and deliver against a live programme.
You’ll need a sound working knowledge of HV/LV distribution, motor control centres, variable speed drives and electrical drawings. Experience with contracts, cost forecasting, variations, RAMS and CDM requirements is also important.
An HNC, HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, is required. Experience with 11kV systems, instrumentation, hazardous areas or EPCm projects would be useful.

- £60,000 base salary
- £5,000 car allowance
- Company pension with contributions matched up to 4%
- Death in service cover of four times salary
The role is office-based in South Wales, with regular travel to client and project sites. Interviews will involve an initial Teams conversation followed by a face-to-face meeting.
