Senior Quantity Surveyor – Bristol – Full-time – £65,000 - £75,000
Rhino Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead commercial management on specialist roofing and cladding projects, ensuring financial precision and delivering high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Costing & Budgeting
- Prepare and monitor internal budgets and project cashflows
- Track revenue and cost variances with timely reporting
- Payment & Contract Management
- Lead the full payment lifecycle: applications, final accounts, and client negotiations
- Review contracts and warranties, raising queries and advising on risks
- Valuation & Site Involvement
- Conduct and agree valuations for completed works
- Attend site regularly to ensure all variations and progress are accurately captured
- Manage procurement, payment, and scope of sub-contractors
- Review invoices and verify completed works
- Produce monthly applications, CVRs, and financial progress reports
- Identify cost variation risks and ensure swift escalation
- Support junior team members with structured 1:1s and performance reviews

- Represent the commercial function in senior management meetings
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS-accredited) or Construction/Commercial Management
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods
- Experience in cost estimating and project cost control software
- Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure
Desirable:
- MRICS membership
- Project management qualification (e.g. Prince 2)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in roofing and cladding projects
