Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Trainee Compartmentation Surveyor to join a growing passive fire protection team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in fire safety and building compliance.

In this role, you will be trained to support compartmentation surveying work across a variety of sites, helping to ensure buildings meet required fire safety standards.

You will learn how to:

  • Carry out detailed surveys of buildings to assess fire compartmentation and identify areas of non-compliance.
  • Record and document findings clearly and accurately.
  • Work alongside project managers, engineers, and clients to help develop compliant remedial solutions.
  • Represent the company professionally on-site and contribute to strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with fire compartmentation surveys across multiple property types.
  • Support the installation of passive fire protection systems.
  • Learn to interpret and understand site drawings and plans.
  • Work in residential, commercial, and care environments, including confined spaces where required.
  • Attend site visits, inspections, and project meetings.
  • Help maintain performance standards and project targets.
  • Promote services to both new and existing clients where appropriate.
  • Provide regular updates to the Passive Fire Protection Manager on progress and any potential delays.

  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

  • Basic understanding of tools, measurements, or practical work.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.

Qualifications & Experience (Desirable but not essential)

  • GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Any background in construction, carpentry, maintenance, or related trades.
  • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one.
