Rhino Recruitment are hiring a welding and fabrication supervisor with marine/shipbuilding and repair experience to join a skilled team based at a workshop and dockyard, though the role may require site and port visits across the country.
Job Title: Welding / Fabrication Foreman (Marine)
Location: Avonmouth
Overview
An experienced Marine Welding / Fabrication Foreman is required to supervise fabrication and welding activities within a marine environment. The role involves overseeing employees and subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget. The Foreman will support Management in the delivery of marine engineering, repair and fabrication projects.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate marine fabrication and welding works, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Manage workloads in line with quoted labour, materials and project schedules.

Monitor job progress and report any technical, programme or cost issues to Management.

Ensure all marine works have appropriate RAMS, permits to work and safe systems in place, including Take 5 documentation.

Procure consumables, plant and materials to support marine projects and site operations.

Maintain good timekeeping, conduct and discipline of personnel in line with company procedures.

Ensure high standards of housekeeping across workshops, vessels, quaysides and site locations.

Control and track tools and equipment, reporting loss or damage as required.

Remain contactable for emergency, breakdown or on-call marine works when required.

Travel to docks, ports, shipyards and client sites to survey works and assist with quotations.
Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience within marine engineering or ship repair environments.

Proven experience supervising welding and fabrication teams on marine projects.

Ability to read and interpret marine drawings, fabrication details and technical specifications.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Team-focused with the ability to motivate and lead personnel.

Willingness to travel to marine sites as required.

Full UK driving licence.

Ensure compliance with marine health, safety and environmental legislation.

Implement and monitor safe systems of work in workshops, vessels and dockside environments.

Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported and recorded promptly.
